Montblanc Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

2017 Writers Edition - Limited 9600

For its 26th Writers Edition, Montblanc honors the genius of French writer and pioneering aviator Antoine Marie Jean-Baptiste Roger, Vicomte de Saint-Exupéry (1900-1944), author of notable literary works including Night Flight, Terre des Hommes and Flight to Arras. His bestselling children’s book, The Little Prince, is one of the most translated works in the world. His experiences as a commercial pilot and a WWII fighter pilot fill Saint-Exupéry’s works with adventure, danger and courage seen through a poet’s eyes.

The Montblanc Writers Edition Antoine de Saint-Exupéry captures the talent and spirit of the literary hero. The pen‘s overall design and shape is inspired by his iconic Caudron Simoun plane from Night Flight, featuring engravings on the night blue precious resin barrel and cap recalling the rivets on the aircraft. The platinum-coated fittings are inspired by the cockpit. The geographic position of important cities in Saint-Exupéry’s life are engraved on the cone. The delicate star engraving on the platinum coated 18K solid gold nib is a reference to the The Little Prince. The cap is adorned with an engraving of Saint-Exupéry’s signature.
